  • One of the most modern general hospitals in Europe. It belongs to the Hellenic Red Cross.
  • The hospital has 300 long-stay beds, 78 one-day beds, 25 surgery rooms, 24 dialysis units and 38 intensive care beds.
  • It was decided that the new hospital would be much lower in height compared to its 17-storey predecessor in order to comply with the building code in effect for the area.
  • This hospital was built on the site of the demolished previous Red Cross Hospital which remained incomplete for about 30 years.
