Facts

  • This project was proposed in 1999 for a unique trapezoidal site in the Warehouse District. At one point, the building was to have included the first full-service grocery store in Downtown Minneapolis, but the Heritage Preservation Commission and Minneapolis City Council denied the developer a necessary height variance. The project was canceled in late 2001.
  • A similar project, The Paxon, was resurrected by Chicago-based Bejco Development in May 2002. This project was proposed at 128 feet/11 floors, but this height variance was also denied, and the structure has been reduced to 8 floors.
