Facts

  • This was Sydney's largest building upon completion, and second-tallest to the AMP Building. The Commonwealth Centre measured 67 m long x 23 m wide and had 1,500 square meters per floor.
  • The large site was sold off in the mid 1980's and the building finally demolished in 1988 to make for Sydney's first all steel skyscraper in 2 decades - Chifley Tower.
