The original marble facades designed by sculptor John Quincy Adams Ward had to be removed in 1936 due to flaws in the marble, weight of the statues, and damage from pollution. They were replaced in the same year with lead-coated replicas.
The trading floor measures 109 feet x 140 feet, with marble walls rising to a height of 72 feet.
The front window behind the columns measures 96 feet in
length by 50 feet in height, and the skylight above the trading floor
measures 30 feet square.
