  • The high-rise's name, Beau Rivage, means "beautiful river," referring to the Caloosahatchee River.
  • The high-rise offers its residents spectacular views over the Caloosahatchee River as well as the many bridges that link Fort Myers and North Fort Myers.
  • The tower was the first high-rise built in Fort Myers in 15 years since the city's first building boom of the 1980s.
  • The tower is located on the east side of Fort Myers' downtown historic district.
  • When the tower was proposed to the Fort Myers City Council, members of the council unanimously approved the building's construction, deeming the residential tower "a wonderful solution" for supporting the downtown shopping district.
  • The building's amazingly quick sell-out sparked an interest in the redevelopment of downtown Fort Myers.
  • Developers advertise the luxury high-rise tower as expressing "tropical urbanism."
  • Prices of the 124 units initially ranged from $250,000 to $500,000 as of fall 2004.
  • The waterfront high-rise's condominium units range in size from 1,315 square feet to 3,600 square feet.
  • The tower contains five typical floor plans with six units per typical floor. The penthouse levels offer five floor plans and five units per penthouse floor.
  • Developers of the high-rise boast that the structure is a product of advanced technologies, as the building's wind load capacity greatly exceeds current wind codes and is designed to protect against moisture intrusion and sound pollution.
  • Wind tunnel tests were conducted on a scale model of the building in order to test the high-rise's integrity in hurricane force winds.
  • The high-rise's reinforced design will be able to withstand gusting winds of up to 130 miles per hour.
  • The high-rise's foundation of 485 friction pilings drilled 65 to 85 feet underground maximizes the building's wind load capacity.
  • Artistic renderings indicate that a flagpole was planned for atop the building, where a flag with the Beau Rivage colors (yellow, blue, and white) would have flown.
  • The luxury residential high-rise topped out in December 2003 and was ready for occupancy in late fall of 2004.
