Facts

  • Originally built as the first of the two-tower DeKalb Towers. It later became the Farnell Court apartments.
  • Emory University purchased Farnell Court and converted it into a dormitory.
  • During the renovations, several 5-story buildings were built around the 17-story tower, which was built before tougher zoning regulations limited the height of buildings in the area.
  • Farnell Court was renamed Dooley Drive and Williams Street was renamed Starvine Street.
  • The sister tower, Somerset Heights, was converted to condominiums.
