Facts

  • Controversial in height and design, the tower has drawn a record 4,400 opposition plaints in the Jerusalem LPC.
  • There are 6 floors in the observation. Used for: 1 technical floor, 2 for the observation (up to 200 people), another technical floor, 1 for coffee shop and 1 for a synagogue.
  • Nicknamed The Jerusalem Eiffel Tower, for the similarity in controversy and observation deck design.
  • Original plans were for a 165 meter tower.
  • The tower has been battled over in administrative courts from 2003 to 2005.
  • The observation deck is located 910 meters above sea level.
