  • Greyfriars is one of a trio of buildings, first proposed in a comprehensive redevelopment scheme of 1964, to cause considerable damage to the Lewins Mead area of Bristol. Greyfriars and niehgbouring blocks Froomsgate House:Froomsgate House] and Whitefriars, effectively walled off the historic district, and together with a new inner circuit road and magistrates' court complex, created one of Bristol's worst post-war redevelopment schemes.
