West Central, the Royal Mail Building
Structure in General
The redevelopment of the Royal Mail Building to West Point will include the addition of a new 13-storey, 49m tall South Wing.
West Point's apartments will be divided into four 'quarters': Capital, Central, Wellington and Whitehall. The apartments will be a combination of one- and two-bedroom units and SmartPads, compact one-room units employing the latest technology and approaches to space planning.
Beginning in April 2003, the Royal Mail Building is being redeveloped as part of the West Central project and renamed West Point. The redevelopment is converting the building from offices to residential use, while adding 4-storeys to take the roof height to 59m.
