Facts

  • Formerly called "Clark Library", this building was the University's main library from 1981 until 2003, when construction was completed for the new City-University joint-library building, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library.
  • This building was originally planned as an 18-story high-rise, but the final plans resulted in 5-story configuration, which eventually cost $500,000 more than the original estimate for the 18-story building.
  • In 2006, following an extensive interior renovation, the building was re-opened as "Clark Hall"; it is now configured to provide space for administrative and faculty offices, classrooms, meeting rooms, and computer labs.
  • The building is named after Robert D. Clark, the president of the University from 1964 to 1969.
