  • It consists of three wings joined by a central service core.
  • Also located in this building is a small food court, a branch of the university bookstore, and a large computer lab to serve the residents living in the southern part of the campus.
  • This dormitory is named in honor of Julia Tutwiler who was an influential teacher and one of the first politically active women in the state of Alabama at the turn of the twentieth century.
  • In the original plans for this tower, Tutwiler Hall II and Tutwiler Hall III were to be constructed as well to create trio of identical high-rise dormitories.
