  • Originally 17 stories tall, the Meyer-Kizer Building was severely damaged by a hurricane just one year after its construction, forcing the removal of the upper 10 floors.
  • The surviving seven story building is now known as the Dade Commonwealth Building.
  • It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
