  • It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
  • Another 450-room wing was proposed after the expansion in 1927, but the Great Depression killed this proposal.
  • The original hotel building opened in late 1917 with 450 guest rooms.
  • The hotel's expansion of 1927 added a further 450 guest rooms.
  • In the spring of 2007, MCP Development began an $82 million renovation of this hotel to convert the structure into a 204-room Hilton Doubletree hotel, 63 upscale apartments, and approximately 30,000 square feet of convention space which was completed in December 2008.
