  • Once the home to the main branch of the Vancouver Public library, today this magnificently renovated building is now home to retailers and a local television broadcasting studio.
  • The Central Library opened its doors on November 1, 1957 and served the city until May 1995 when it closed as the new Vancouver Central Library opened six blocks east along Robson Street.
  • Awarded the Massey Medal in 1958, Canada's highest architectural honour.
  • Home to the Virgin Records megastore and CTV (CIVT-Vancouver) television broadcast studios.
  • Construction commenced April 19, 1956.
