Facts

  • The project fills the last available city block (until then occupied by parking lots) between the historic old Montreal district to the south and the modern business centre to the north.
  • The completion of the project is coupled with the restoration of the Victoria Square's urban space to its original size as of the beginning of the 20th century and with the creation of a new public square to be located between the Montreal Convention Centre and the CDP Capital Centre.
  • The north end of the CDP Capital Centre is crossed by the underground Ville-Marie Expressway.
  • The CDP Capital Centre is part of the overall "Le Quartier international" urban project, comprising the Convention Centre extension, the covering of the entrenched Ville-Marie Expressway, the opening of new public spaces in place of parking lots and the rehabilitation of existing public spaces, and the Place de la Cité Internationele which include the already built ICAO Centre (17 story) and a proposed 31 story building.
  • The CDP Capital Centre consists of three blocks from ten to thirteen usable floors above the ground level, linked together by an interior atrium of a height of nine floors.
