  • Groundbreaking took place on February 27, 1888, the cornerstone was laid on August 16, 1888, and the official dedication took place on May 13, 1893.
  • Building stones came from Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Tennessee, Vermont, and Italy.
  • With demolition of Henry Hobson Richardson's Chamber of Commerce Building in 1911, this is the most prominent romanesque building in the city.
  • The Cincinnati City Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
