Santa Església Catedral Basílica de Barcelona, Catedral Gotica
Structure in General
church (roman catholic)
The origins of the cathedral are a small church destroyed by Al-Manur in 925.
The wide square in front of the Gothic Cathedral was created after the Spanish Civil War, destroying a narrow street and many small buildings.
The works of the actual building started in 1298, but it wasn't until the XIX century when it was finished by Josep Oriol Mestres and August Font i Carreras following some XIV century draws. That last works were to finish the facade.
