Facts

  • Promoted for years as the tallest building between San Francisco and Los Angeles when it surpassed the Bank of Italy Building in San Jose.
  • Much of the structural steel used in the tower was prefabricated for an apartment building planned for San Francisco, but the developer went bankrupt. Fred Sahadi was able to purchase the steel from Pittsburgh-Des Moines Steel at a discount.
