Facts

  • The Trumbull County Courthouse has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1974.
  • Its design was strongly influenced by H.H. Richardson's Allegheny County Courthouse in Pittsburgh.
  • It features copper statues of lady justice, each twelve feet tall and weighing 700 pounds, upon the gables of each side of the building.
  • Clarence Darrow (1857-1938) defended cases in the third-floor courtroom, one of the largest courtrooms in Ohio.
