  • This is Asheville’s tallest building and the tallest building between Knoxville and Winston-Salem.
  • It opened in September 1965 as the Northwestern Bank Building. It later became known as the BB&T Building.
  • It underwent a major renovation into a residential building in 2016-2018. The Arras will offer 128 hotel rooms and 54 condominiums.
  • The original international style facade of anodized aluminum panels was replaced with a postmodern design during the renovation.
  • The number 13 is omitted from the floor numbers of this building.
