  • The Cotillion Ballroom contains a mural depicting the 1684 departure for America of a French explorer of the Illinois River - René Robert Cavalier, Sieur de LaSalle.
  • During the 1970s, the basement contained a nightclub called "The Playground", complete with sandboxes and an entrance via a slide.
  • Famous guests have included U.S. Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, Ford, & Reagan.
  • Named after the French explorer Father Jacques Marquette, the hotel's lobby contains an 8' by 18' mural of his 1673 landing on the site of Peoria.
