  • The dome weighs 30,800,000 lbs.
  • The total cost of construction for the building itself, excluding the $594,172 required to furnish the interior, was $6,791,595.
  • The Tiffany Chandelier weighs 5 tons and is big enough to hold a VW Beetle. The light has 202 bulbs, the chain is 101 feet in length, and is suspended 50 feet above the rotunda's floor.
  • 2001-present, capitol rotunda restoration and building renovations / NBBJ architects, with Einhorn Yaffee Prescott as historic architect.
  • The Capitol is the fourth tallest all-masonary dome in the world after St. Paul's, London, St. Peter's, Rome, and St. Isaac's in St. Petersburg, Russia
