Facts

  • The Nasby Building, Toledo's first skyscraper (completed in 1891), and the Wayne Building (1924) were united behind one facade and are collectively known as the Madison Building. The asbestos-containing panels were removed in 2016 exposing both buildings’ original facades.
  • The Nasby Building originally featured a 187 ft (57 m) tower at the corner of North Huron Street and Madison Avenue reminiscent of Seville's Sevilla Cathedral. The tower's cupola was removed in 1934 due to deterioration.
  • The Madison Building has been vacant for decades and is in a decayed state.
