  • This E-shaped Italian Renaissance structure was dedicated on October 4, 1906 by President Theodore Roosevelt.
  • The green dome is modeled on that of St. Peter's in Rome and rises to a height of 272 feet.
  • Flanking the triple-arched entrance are three sculpture groups by George Gray Barnard: Burden of Life and Labor and Brotherhood.
  • Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
