Facts

  • The Grand Rapids Administration Building, along with the three-story County of Kent Administration Building form the centerpiece of the Vandenberg Center. Together they form a classic modernist, International Style composition of contrasting elements unified by symmetry, rectangular massing, and the Cartesian gridded patterns typical of the architect Mies van der Rohe. The steel-frame structures of the two buildings are clad in brown Canadian granite, with bronze-tinted glass filling in between.
