  • Located at Ionia and Monroe Center Avenues, this is the middle building in a trio of 13-story 1920s skyscrapers at the same corner.
  • Opened in 1922 as the replacement for the previous Morton Hotel on the site, the hotel operated until 1970 when it went into bankruptcy and was reopend as the Morton House Apartments, which consisted of 224-rent subsidized aprtments.
  • The apartment building was closed on August 31, 2011 when the 40-year contract with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development was up. The owners sold the building to Rockford Construction and RDV Corp. who began a renovation in early 2014, which was completed in September 2015, converting the building to market-rate apartment usage.
