  • The construction sequence is as follows: Working house - George T. Honstain, 1902 (demolished); grain tanks - 1902-1905 (demolished); grain tanks - 1915 (forms west portion of extant complex); grain tanks - McKenzie-Hague Company, 1928 (forms east portion of extant complex); conversion to apartments, infill structure - Brantingham Architects, Ltd., 1983-1985.
  • At its maximum, the complex's capacity was nearly one million bushels.
  • An even larger grain elevator-to-residential conversion by the same architects was announced in 2006 for the Bunge Midway Elevator, located across the city.
  • The conversion to condominiums required the cutting of 1600 openings in the former elevator's concrete walls.
  • The floors are poured-in-place concrete, fixed to the eight inch exterior walls by 10,000 steel bolts.
