Facts

  • Eight stories were added in 1909. The 12th-floor mezzanine cannot be seen from the street.
  • The Flour Exchange Building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
  • After 1902, the corner of 4th Avenue and 3rd Street South was dominated by commodity exchanges, with the Corn Exchange Building and the Minneapolis Grain Exchange complex occupying two of the other three corners.
  • This is the oldest Chicago School high-rise in Minneapolis.
