Facts

  • When originally completed in 1927, it was a thin 18-story art deco tower.
  • At the time it opened it was the tallest building in the city.
  • A 1964 addition expanded the footprint to the east, added 2 additional stories, and gave the entire building a modern new facade.
  • The Journal-Record newspaper relocated here after the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, as it was located directly across from the site of the bombing.
  • This building is scheduled to be reconfigured from offices to apartments.
