  • Demolition of this tower is expected in 2006.
  • Castaways closed for the last time in 2004 after years of losing business to the Las Vegas Strip mega-resorts.
  • The hotel and casino complex anchored the northern end of the Boulder Highway Strip which lies a few miles east of the Las Vegas Strip.
  • The Showboat became Castaways in 2000 after being sold off by the owner due to continued poor preformance. The new owners could not make the required payments to the mortgage company, and the property was sold by auction to Station Casinos in 2004.
  • The hotel tower portion of the old casino was imploded on January 11, 2006 at 7:05am.
  • The property opened in 1954 as the Showboat and contained a 106-lane bowling center hosting professional and amateur tournaments, while its sports pavilion, which in the 1990s was remodelled into a bingo hall, was host to championship boxing, wrestling, as well as roller derby events.
  • Demolition on this property began in July of 2005. The low-rise portions were torn down using a wrecking ball. The tower portion was imploded on January 11, 2006.
  • The building features 80,000 square feet of casino space.
  • The building has 8,300 square feet of meeting space.
