  • The hotel had 986 guest rooms.
  • Operated under the name Last Frontier from 1943-1955.
  • Here in 1956 Elvis Presley "bombed" his first Las Vegas show; the next time the singer returned to town in 1969 to perform in Las Vegas Hilton he had enormous success.
  • The atrium hotel tower was added to the complex in 1969, and included 650 guest rooms.
  • It was announced on May 16, 2007 the Elad Group of New Jersey would buy this property, demolish the hotel, and create a replica of the The Plaza Residences in New York City to open by 2011.
