  • The BMA Tower is situated on seven acres and rests on a large raised plaza.
  • The steel framed structure is clad in white Georgia marble.
  • The top floor houses executive office space.
  • The exterior wall of gray glass placed in black anodized aluminium frames is set back six feet from the exterior row of columns providing an open gallery and sun screen at each floor.
  • Built on the highest point of land in Kansas City.
  • The building is encased in an exterior steel and marble frame which is set 6 feet out from the windows.
  • BMA Tower was granted state and federal historic status in 2002, which will qualify it for a broad range of tax credits to finance a renovation of the 293,000 square foot structure.
  • The international-style building received the First Honor Award from the American Institute of Architects in 1964 and was included in an exhibit of outstanding 20th century architecture at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City in 1965.
  • It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
  • In December 2002, the BMA Tower was sold to Landmark Tower LLC, a division of Diversified Asset Management, Inc.
  • Officially in March of 2003, Business Men's Assurance Company of America (BMA), no longer had any ownership of this tower and does not occupy any space in the facility.
  • Landmark Tower, LLC sold the building in October 2004 to SWD Communities of Newport Beach, California. SWD plans 106 condos ranging in square footage from 1,500 to 15,000 square feet.
