Facts

  • The old Kansas City Club merged with the University Club in 2001. The newly merged club retained the Kansas City Club name and operated out of the University Club's building three blocks north.
  • The proposal to renovate the Kansas City Club Building into residential units was announced in May 2002.
  • Renovation work began in March 2003 to build 75 rental units, two dozen lofts and rooftop banquet space in the former club's popular Starlight Lounge.
  • It was converted into a hotel in 2020.
