Facts

• Designed by the architect Sir Edwin Lutyens as the British Viceroy's Palace, Rashpati Bhavan is now the official residence of the President of India.
• The Palace covers an area of 2 Hectares (5 acres).
• The "Durbar Hall" is the main interior space, situated beneath the dome, and where all the most important state ceremonies and functions are held.
