Facts

  • This was originally the Seattle City Light Building.
  • Plans first called for a 26-story art deco building, but it was dramatically scaled back due to the Great Depression. Only the 2-story base was actually completed.
  • Seven additional levels were added in 1957 with a mid-century modern facade.
  • In January 1997, an extensive renovation and expansion project was completed. The existing floor plates were enlarged, and four new stories were added to the top of the 9-story, 140,000-square-foot building.
