Facts

  • The building originally began construction in September 1928 for the Detroit chapter of the National Town and Country Club, though it had changed its name to the Pontchartrain Club early in during construction.
  • Construction stopped in 1929 during the Great Depression, leaving an empty shell of a building until the Bagley-First-State Corporation finished the building as a 319-unit apartment building called the Town House Apartments between 1951 and 1953.
