  • The first three levels were altered in 1947 by Ayres & Ayres; a general restoration was done in 1983.
  • Designed by Sanguinet & Staats as the Central Trust Company Building, the name was changed to South Texas Building in 1932.
  • The building is constructed of steel and reinforced concrete, and is faced with green granite, brick, and terra-cotta.
  • The South Texas Building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
  • Currently there are plans to renovate the building and include up to 35 residential units in a mixed use project that would include commercial office space.
