  • Former site of the Temple University Center City campus.
  • The five-story parking garage on the Chancellor Street side was part of the original construction, and was still considered a novelty at the time of completion in 1929.
  • The Philadelphia Historic Commission designated the building a historic site in 1983, the same year it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
  • In 1930, the architects received an award for the design of 1616 Walnut Street at the 12th International Buildings Congress in Budapest.
