  • Excavation began on June 8, 1914, and was officially dedicated on May 1, 1915.
  • A 16-story addition by architect Kenneth Franzheim was constructed in 1938.
  • Originally designed to house the regional offices of Texaco.
  • The property has been vacant since 1989, when the oil giant relocated to a new tower on the western end of downtown.
  • In the 1990s a redevelopment group planned to transform the building into a Ritz-Carlton hotel.
  • Kimberly-Clark purchased the building in 2002 to develop the building into a Renaissance Hotel.
  • The building was converted to apartments in 2015.
