Facts

  • In 1975 two 40-foot solar-powered flagpoles were installed on the sidewalk outside. The first of their kind in the U.S., the poles automatically raised and lowered their flags at sunrise and sunset.
  • This building stands on the site of the First Leiter Building, an important prototype for the skyscraper by architect/engineer William LeBaron Jenney which used a combination of masonry and iron framing techniques.
