  • The façade consists of 8' x 8' square windows, each subdivided according to the golden section into a lower rectangle with two side rectangles within that section.
  • The design was inspired by Mies van der Rohe's apartment building in Lafayette Park, Michigan.
  • Two blocks directly east is Pensacola Place Apartments, a postmodern variant of the Boardwalk's design by the same architect.
  • The Boardwaok is located at the southwest corner of Clarendon Park, a section of parkland west of Lake Shore Drive between Lawrence and Montrose.
  • This is the tallest building on Montrose Avenue.
  • This was the first highrise building built from a design by Stanley Tigerman, one of Chicago's best known architects of the postmodern era.
