Facts

  • Former Security Pacific National Bank headquarters (merged into Bank of America in 1991).
  • The Security Pacific Plaza was topped out in April 1973. Rather than hoist a traditional evergreen tree to the top, the bank donated 50,000 trees to the U.S. Forest Service's reforestation program.
  • Offering one of the highest parking ratios downtown, the 9-story garage can be accessed via three entrances and exits located on different levels and streets.
  • The 55-story tower occupies less than 16 percent of the four acre site.
  • Sold by Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. for $270 million to Beacon Capital Partners Inc. in September 2002.
  • Bank of America Plaza is surrounded by downtown's most important governmental, judicial, entertainment, and residential sectors.
