  • New York architect Bruce Price (father of Emily Post) was retained by William Van Horne (general manager of Canadian Pacific) to design this "stopover" in the late 19th century.
  • Le Chateau Frontenac was built in many phases : Riverview aisle (1893), Citadelle aisle (1899), Mont-Carmel aisle (1908), Saint-Louis aisle and central tower (1924).
  • A more recent addition was completed in 1993 (Claude-Pratte aisle).
