Facts

  • Building plans indicate the structural height is 146 meters from the Cordova Street elevation on the north side, rear of complex, making Harbour Centre the city's tallest building from 1977-2001 (458 feet from Hastings Street main entrance).
  • Capped with a popular "Space Needle-like" platform on a pedestal with revolving restaurant on top level accessed by two outside glass elevators.
  • The Vancouver Lookout viewing deck is advertised as being 550 feet above sea level.
  • The observation deck was officially opened on August 13, 1977 by astronaut Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, who left his footprint in cement to mark the occasion.
  • Proposed as 179 meters (586 feet without the 100 foot high pylon) but the City would only approve the shorter version.
  • Vancouver's tallest building from 1977-present when the 100-foot illuminated ornamental pylon is included as part of its overall height, making the tower 581 feet from Cordova Street to the spire tip.
  • The overall Harbour Centre complex contains a gross area of 594,172 ft², approximately half office and half retail.
  • BOMA Go Green Certified February 2006.
