Facts

  • Philipshaus consists of two parts: a two-story structure straddled at one end by a slab-like tower. The tower is carried by two large piers, with floorloads counterbalanced by cantilevers at either end.
  • Philips was the first major company to move its offices out of Vienna's center. Their new building, situated atop a ridge, was for many years a dominant landmark greeting travellers approaching the city from the south.
