  • Wheel diameter: 64,75 m, Weight of wheel: 244,85 t, weight of iron structure: 430 t.
  • The turning speed of the wheel is 0,75 meter per second.
  • In a red house at the foot of the wheel is an exhibition called "The Panorama", it shows the history of Vienna and the Prater, it is set with hundreds of figures, mechanical installations and audio images.
  • A new attraction of the wheel is the "Light Experience", a colorful light-installation by the British artist Patrick Woodroffe.
  • Riesenrad is one of the top 5 tourist attractions. You've not been to Vienna if you did not ride on Riesenrad. This, the world's second oldest ferris wheel, was heavily damaged in 1944. After reconstruction the number of wagons was reduced from 30 to 15 for safety reasons; one of it is a luxury wagons and can be rented for parties.
