  • Das Pirelli Hochhaus war ein Schauplatz im Film "La Notte" von Regisseur Michelangelo Antonioni.
  • Der Bau des Gebäudes startete im Juli 1956 und endete am 2. August 1958. Das Hochhaus ging am 4. April 1960 in Betrieb.
  • Das Gebäude wurde 1978 von der Region Lombardien erworben und beinhaltet heute Verwaltungseinheiten der Region Mailand.
  • Das Haus bietet Platz für 1.750 Mitarbeiter.
  • Der Bau hat die Form eines langgestreckten Rhombus.
  • Die beiden an den Außenkanten zurückknickenden Fassaden berühren sich beinahe, lediglich zwei schmale Abstände halten sie über die gesamte Höhe auseinander.
  • Die Fassade aus Glas endet eine Etage unterhalb des Daches, das förmlich darüber zu schweben scheint.
  • Ein Kleinflugzeug ist am 18. April 2002 in das Hochhaus gerast, das die Regionalregierung der Lombardei beherbergt.
  • On April 18th, 2002 a small plane hit the skyscraper, setting the 24th and 25th floors of the 32-story building on fire.
  • Construction of the building started in July 1956, and ended on 2 August 1958. It entered service with ceremonies on 4 April 1960.
  • The building is named for the Pirelli Company, a large Italian manufacturer of tires and cables. The company no longer operates from this building.
  • The building was purchased in 1978 by the Region of Lombardia (Lombardy). It is now the region's main administration building, housing 1750 government workers including Regional Counsellors and the President.
  • Pirelli Building was the first skyscraper in the world to use a long-span frame structure (80 feet / 25 meters).
  • Appears in the opening scene of the film "La Notte", directed by Michelangelo Antonioni.
