Facts

  • Twin to the Deutsche Kirche to the south, and separated from it by Schinkel's Schauspielhaus, the Franzoesische Kirche was built for Berlin's Huguenot community.
  • The church was built in 1701-08 by Giovanni Simonetti according to a design by Martin Gruenberg. The tower was added in 1780-85 by Karl von Gontard.
