  • Built between 1959 and 1965, Emek Business Center at Kızılay Square was the first skyscraper in Ankara.
  • When it was completed in 1965, Emek Business Center became the tallest modern skyscraper in Turkey.
  • The building is commonly accepted as the first highrise tower that started the skyscraper boom in the country.
  • Its design was primarily inspired by the Lever House (1952) building, blended with some of the facade characteristics of the United Nations Secretariat Building (1952) in New York City.
  • It was the first highrise building in Turkey with a glass curtain wall facade.
