Facts

  • Flagship of Dan Hotels in Israel.
  • Three floors were added to the original 7-storey building in 1967.
  • Built by the wealthy Jewish-Egyptian Muserri family.
  • The hotel is opposite to YMCA Tower.
  • In 1978, a proposal to build a 22 storey wing at the southeast corner, designed by architect David Reznik, was rejected due to the sharp contrast to the original iconic building.
  • The building, which served at large as headquarters for the British Army from 1938, was bombed by a Zionist resistance group on the morning of July 22th, 1946, causing the entire south wing to collapse.
